I entered my “writing” phase in the back half of life, tossing advanced degrees in the sciences right out the window. Wow, what a ride! Who thought capturing humor and hardship on a page could be such a decadent indulgence? It began with curriculum, anthology contributions, and articles where one of the ten shorter people, who call me Nana, often helped make a point. More recently, snarky nonfiction has stepped aside for a season of fictional adventure.
I’m native to Arizona, partial to all things outdoors, and never refuse a good hike if it includes grandchildren. Or dark chocolate. I recently traced my ancestry to the very farm in New York which serves as the setting for The Deyo Hill series, including The Panther Indian Pact and The Everything Gang.
